Who Are We?

We believe in the RSPCA. That’s why we’re asking more of them.

For All Animals is a coalition of 14 animal and environmental organisations, and we’re backed by former RSPCA presidents, a former RSPCA trustee, a former RSPCA prosecutor, a former auditor for the RSPCA Assured scheme, and a vet with first-hand experience of RSPCA Assured farms.

We are people who know the RSPCA from the inside.

We respect the RSPCA for everything they’ve achieved for many animals. And we believe they can – and must – help end factory farming, just as they’ve helped end other forms of animal cruelty for over two centuries.

  • "I was initially thrilled to be a Trustee for the RSPCA, as I saw – and still see – it as an organisation with immense power to change the world for the better for all animals. Sadly, it has lost its way with farmed animals. My hope remains that they will return to their bold roots and drive forward the massive changes needed."

    — Jane Tredgett // former RSPCA Trustee —

  • "I've seen what happens inside RSPCA Assured factory farms – it’s the same as what happens in all factory farms. Systemic cruelty. The RSPCA stands against cruelty to animal companions, but rubber stamps it for farmed animals. That's speciesism – placing more value and importance on one kind of animal than another. It's time the RSPCA lived up to its name."

    — Dale Vince OBE // Green Britain Foundation —

  • “Factory farming is the greatest source of animal suffering in Britain today. The RSPCA was founded to prevent cruelty – not to certify systems that confine, mutilate and kill animals on an industrial scale. It has moral authority and public trust. Now it must use both to help end factory farming.”

    — Juliet Gellatley // Viva! —

  • "The RSPCA Assured scheme isn't preventing cruelty, it's legitimising factory farming and sustaining the myth that there's a kind way to farm and kill animals. The RSPCA has the power to change this and bring factory farming to an end. This is a vital step towards a world where animals are free to live life on their own terms."

    — Dr Laila Kassam // Project Phoenix —

  • "The RSPCA exists to prevent cruelty to all animals. But the RSPCA Assured dairy farms I visited separate mothers and calves, which causes mental anguish for both. The calves are confined, and have painful mutilations inflicted upon them. It begs the question: why does the RSPCA believe it should support this industry?"

    — JoAnne McArthur // award-winning photojournalist —

  • "Schemes like RSPCA Assured mislead the public by suggesting 'higher welfare' where systemic suffering still exists. We’re part of this campaign because meaningful change requires honesty, accountability, and a clear commitment to ending factory farming – not endorsing it."

    — Claire Palmer // Animal Justice Project —

  • "Factory farming is fundamentally at odds with what we know about animals: that they are sentient individuals. Billions spend their lives confined in barren sheds, denied even their most basic natural behaviours. It is suffering on an industrial scale, and it is indefensible. The RSPCA was founded to oppose cruelty. It should not be putting its name to the systems that cause so much of it.”

    — Elisa Allen // PETA —

Over 170 undercover investigations

into RSPCA Assured farms and slaughterhouses have exposed widespread abuse, cruelty and neglect.

Close-up of a fish underwater near the surface, with their mouth visible, in a green aquatic environment.
A close-up of a chicken with brown and white feathers, looking to the side against a dark background.
Dead bird lying on a bed of straw in front of a concrete wall inside a barn or similar structure.
Young piglet lying on the ground with mud on their body and snout.

If RSPCA Assured is the best, what do the rest look like?

Two undercover investigations are standing outside a facility at night, illuminated by a red light. The surrounding area is dark, with a metal building wall.

Many who back this campaign were insiders who have blown the whistle – some openly, others who must remain anonymous.

If you work in farming, the RSPCA, a slaughterhouse, a supermarket – or anywhere along the supply chain – and have witnessed something the public deserves to know, we want to hear from you.

We’re standing up For All Animals

Together, we can be the generation that ends factory farming for good.
